There are few studies describing interpersonal violence (IPV) among physicians. Our study describes IPV experienced by U.S. physicians.
This was a multicenter survey administered to 4 physician groups in 2015 to 2016. In total 400 respondents returned survey results. Measures included current IPV, childhood abuse, mental health, professional role, and demographics.
IPV was reported by 24% of respondents. The most frequent abuses reported were verbal (15%), physical (8%) followed by sexual abuse (4%) and stalking (4%). Logistic regression model found that IPV was more likely to be reported by older participants (aged 66-89), those who experienced childhood abuse, working less than full time, and had been diagnosed with a personality disorder. Women and Asian Americans reported slightly higher IPV rates.
Our study has implications for both medicalained recovery. This is the first survey to our knowledge that confirms that physicians experience IPV at a rate consistent or higher than the national level. We conducted a retrospective study of patients who have undergone navigated primary TKA from January 2016 through January 2020. Two hundred and ninety-nine cases with lateral femoral bowing of 3° or less were assigned to group 1, 95 cases of lateral femoral bowing between 3° and 5° were assigned to group 2, and 89 cases with lateral femoral bowing of more than 5° were assigned to group 3. The postoperative mechanical hip-knee-ankle (mHKA) angle was measured from scanograms, which were taken 3 months after surgery. The appropriate range of coronal alignment was set as 0 ± 3°.
The number of outliers of mHKA occurred was 31 cases (10.4%) in group 1, 17 cases (17.9%) in group 2, and 17 cases (19.1%) in group 3. There was a significant correlation between the degree of lateral femoral bowing and the occurrence rate of mHKA outliers. Multiple variables logistic regression analysis showed occurrence rate of outliers in group 3 to be 2.04 times higher than group 1. After adjusting the patient's age, sex, body mass index, and preoperative HKA deformity, the occurrence rate of outliers in group 3 was still 1.96 times higher than group 1.

However, the mechanisms through which these diseases interact are unclear. In PD, tissue and bone destruction in the mouth is driven by elevated recruitment of polymorphonuclear neutrophils (PMNs), which are primed and recruited from the circulation to sites of inflammation. We predicted that systemic effects on PMN mobilization or priming could account for the interaction between PD and other inflammatory conditions. We tested this using a mouse model of ligature-induced PD and found elevated PMN counts specifically in bone marrow, supporting a systemic effect of periodontal tissue inflammation on PMN production. In contrast, mice with induced peritonitis had elevated PMN counts in the blood, peritoneum, and colon. These elevated counts were further significantly increased when acute peritonitis was induced after ligature-induced PD health and reveals potential new approaches for treating systemic inflammatory diseases that interact with PD.Traditional measures attempting to capture students' perceptions of peer drinking fail to capture the unique social influence of their most proximal peers. Hierarchical linear regression assessed whether egocentric network variables uniquely predicted personal alcohol use, controlling for age, gender, race/ethnicity, and Greek-life affiliation. Students with higher AUDIT scores were more likely to nominate persons close to them that engaged in more frequent, higher quantity drinking, and were also likely to mirror drinking behaviors to that of their close ties. Future studies should utilize SNA to capture the nuance associated with individuals' perceptions of close others' alcohol use and their oing behaviors to that of their close ties. This systematic review aimed to investigate the efficacy and safety of SDT for CMP.
MEDLINE, CINAHL, EMBASE, AMED, CENTRAL, PsycINFO, Scopus, OT Seeker, PEDro, ETHOS, Web of Science, and Open Grey were searched for appropriate randomized controlled trials (RCTs). Included papers were assessed for risk of bias, and evidence was graded using the GRADE approach. The protocol was published on PROSPERO (anonymized).
Ten RCTs met the inclusion/exclusion criteria. There was conflicting evidence from seven RCTs for the efficacy of SDT for chronic low back pain (CLBP). There was very low-quality evidence from two studies supporting the efficacy of SDT for phantom limb pain (PLP). There was very low-quality evidence from one RCT for the efficacy of SDT for Fibromyalgia. No adverse effects of SDT were identified.
SDT has been delivered in multiple forms in the literature.
